Instagram adds snapchat-style stories feature
Instagram now allows the users to share the moments of their day in a slide-show like format, which will not be a part of their profile, but a part of their “story”. Users can share as much content as they want to, and can be creative with it too.

Instagram, the photo-sharing app you use to distribute tastefully curated photos of your brunch in an elaborate ruse to pretend your life is fine, just shamelessly swiped Snapchat’s concept in the form of “Stories”.
Does that ring a bell?
The photos “won’t appear on your profile grid or in feed”, however.
However, you can also choose to hide your story from specific people by deselecting them in your list of followers.
Interestingly, Stories doesn’t have likes or comments enabled, which might be a Godsend for popular celebrities on Instagram who just want to share their photos without having to deal with an avalanche of sometimes hostile feedback.
“With Instagram Stories, you don’t have to worry about over-posting”, the company said in its announcement blog post.
Instagram Stories will globally roll out “over the next week fews” on both iOS and Android. Snapchat has a similar feature, one called Snapchat Stories – or Snapchat’s My Story.
The feature closely mirrors Stories on Snapchat, where users upload Snaps to their Story for others to view. Profile pictures of those you follow will be displayed, and when one of them has a new story for you to view, it will have a colorful circle around it. That should sound familiar. Afterwards, you can doodle on the photo/video, type phrases, or save your creation to your phone. Facebook even tried to create its own ephemeral messaging service in the past but the service failed to kick off.

You can also keep an eye on your own story by swiping up to see exactly who has looked at each of your photos and videos.
