Instagram Has Launched A New Feature “Instagram Stories”
The Facebook-owned Instagram has almost 300 million daily users and is the biggest photo-sharing social network in the world right now.

The feature closely mirrors Stories on Snapchat, where users upload Snaps to their Story for others to view.
“Instagram has always been a place to share the moments you want to remember”, the company wrote on their blog.
Instagram Stories lets users share a series of moments and then customise them with text, drawings and emoji icons.
Does that ring a bell?
Insta’s new feature is a lot like Snapchat, wherein all the videos and images disappear after 24 hours.
Snapchat Instagram Story, you can choose from a top navigation bar which includes your friends or popular Instagram accounts. Although it is not possible to “like” or comment in public about a photo or video, users can send private comments using the Instagram Direct private message system.
The new Stories feature is however a good move by Instagram, as brands can now target the market through another social media platform.
Instagram has said it will be rolling out Instagram Stories on iOS and Android globally over the coming weeks.
Privacy settings for stories will be the same as the settings of the account, so if the account is set to private, the story will only be visible to approved followers.
From there, you can either tap to go back and forward, or swipe and jump to another user’s story.
“Facebook invented feed, LinkedIn took on feed, Twitter took on feed, Instagram took on feed, and they all feel very different now and they serve very different purposes”. Keeping in the vein of Snapchat, you can swipe up on your own story to see every Instagram member who has viewed the post so far. This sounds like a ideal middle ground for people who like the temporary quality of Snapchat photos but who don’t want the annoyance of having to download another app. Now you can share your highlights and everything in between, too.
What do you think of Instagram Stories?

So the good news is, if you happen to cobble together a story that ends up being atrocious/embarrassing/too personal or what have you, it will only be out in the universe for 24 hours.
