Users will also be able to minimize the video chat so they can continue scrolling through their Instagram feed, or do other things in the app.

Also, Instagram will now allow and make it simpler for more third-party apps to be integrated into the Stories, like Spotify and GoPro.

Beginning today, you can add your GoPro photo and video footage direct to your Instagram story from the GoPro App with only a few taps.

‘From there you can edit and add to your story or send it via Direct.

If you’re using an iOS device, you don’t even need a third-party editing app, because you can simply drag the image or video left or right to crop it down to the flawless size. The Spotify integration will be available to everyone on Instagram starting Tuesday, with Facebook’s integration coming soon along with other third-party partners. The latest update to the app brings new ways of sharing content on the platform as well as new ways of connecting with your contacts aside from just messaging them.

Finally, Instagram has also introduced a new bullying filter which tries to automatically hide any comments which are meant to be upsetting. Users who spot the effects can ‘”try it on” directly from the Story, adding it to their camera tray.

After Instagram lifted Snapchat stories and made them better and more popular, the running joke is that anything Snapchat does, Instagram is likely to follow.

Instagram is also apparently looking at adding a slow-mo recording feature to Stories.

While some of these features have already gone live, Facebook has promised all these features will be rolled out in as part of the Instagram update in coming weeks. Users will also have the option to discover others with similar interests through their Groups or Events. This will basically offer more personalised content to the user.

When you click on the search button in Instagram, you not only get to search for an account but are also greeted with the Explore screen.

How often do you find yourself on Instagram, listening to music, and you suddenly get that huge urge to let your mates know just how your favourite song of the moment is making you feel right now? The feature is in testing and rolling out in the coming weeks said Product Manager Shilpa Sarkar.

According to Twitter users Jane Wong and Matt Navarra, the app could be getting four new features in the future.
