In a yet another reported copying of mobile messaging app Snapchat which it once tried to buy for $3 billion, Facebook has announced a “Stories” format for Instagram that clones Snapchat’s popular feature.

So as you can see, there’s plenty of similarities between Instagram’s stories feature and Snapchat’s stories feature.
Instagram is calling the feature one that lets users “share all the moments of your day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile”.
Here’s the deal. With Snapchat stories, you can broadcast multiple snaps (aka videos and photos) taken throughout the day, complete with overlays of doodles and stickers and filters and masks.
Just like its namesake over at Snapchat, the images are uploaded to a slideshow and then disappear 24 hours after they’re posted. We weren’t kidding; it’s exactly like Snapchat Stories.

Just when you thought you had your social media game down, Instagram comes along with yet another feature to mess with your scene. According to Instagram, Stories follow “the privacy settings of your account”, meaning that, “if you set your account to private, your story is visible only to your followers”.
“When there’s something new to see, their profile photo will have a colorful ring around it”. Back in 2012, Facebook released Poke, in which messages can disappear automatically once sent.
Like Snapchat, you can view who’s seen each photo and video you’ve posted. You can even choose to feature a particular part of your story by posting it on your profile.
