Instagram takes on Snapchat with Stories feature
Jumping into Stories is as easy as tapping on one of those profile photos, and swiping to move back and forward through each user slideshow. For better or worse, swiping up on one of your Stories will bring up a list of the users who have seen it thus far, which should be enough to satisfy certain curiosities.

The Facebook-owned app released a new feed called Stories that is very similar to Snapchat’s.
Instagram’s stories will allow users to share various photos and videos of their day with followers, with the option to add “text and drawing tools”. The feed features ephemeral content that summarizes a user’s day and expires within 24 hours.
Unlike regular posts, Stories doesn’t include likes or public comments, so if you want to tell your BFF just how jealous you are of their outstanding lunch, you can just tap the image and send them a private message. “Anyone you allow to follow you on Instagram can see your Instagram Stories, though you can also block people, as opposed to building a separate network on Snapchat”.
Stories are shared based on a user’s privacy settings: if your account is private, your story is visible only to followers.
Instagram just got a whole lot more like Snapchat.
This features Instagram Stories will rolling out globally for the iOS and the Android platforms in the coming few weeks.
You won’t find any mention of Snapchat in the announcement (except in the comments), but Instagram CEO did acknowledge the cloning process that took place to create Instagram Stories.
