They are also smaller, have faster wake up time, and battery life that lasts better than the current chips.
Describing the new “Skylake” line of Core processors as the “best ever” processors, Intel said that the processors – which will take barely half a second to start – will herald the next generation of PCs. “They enable state-of-the-art experiences like voice control and removing the hassle of managing passwords, as well as enhanced security”.
According to the company, the sixth Generation Intel processors offers 30 times improved graphics performance compared with the five years old mediocre processor and offers three-fold increased battery life. “We continue to think that a seasonal lift in PC builds and PC processor demand could help Intel achieve solid sequential growth in the September quarter”. The architecture can work on 4.5W on tablets running Core M processors to 45W on more advanced laptops, Ultrabooks and mobile workstations.
The desktop family comprises a Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 line-up aimed at all types of desktop devices across the market, from gaming towers, traditional PC towers, all-in-ones, mini PCs, portable all-in-ones and the Intel Compute stick.
