NEW YORK (AP) – Authorities are looking for a naturalized citizen from Afghanistan for questioning in a weekend explosion in a Manhattan neighborhood that injured 29 people as the governor conceded Monday that investigators could no longer rule out worldwide terrorism.

“We know a lot more than we did just 24 hours ago”, de Blasio told ABC television. Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement descended on an Elmora Avenue home early Monday morning, where Rahami either now lives or used to live. Officials said they thought the bomb had been timed to detonate as participants were running by, but the race started late.

The apartment search began after one of five devices found at the nearby Elizabeth train station exploded while a bomb squad robot attempted to disarm it.

The bombing in New York City, near 23rd St.in Manhattan, injured 29 people Saturday evening. Authorities moved the device to a secure NYPD facility in the Bronx around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and authorities were able to successfully open it Sunday evening.

As many as five potential explosive devices tumbled out of the backpack when it was emptied, Bollwage said.

“We’re coordinating resources between New York and New Jersey to see if there’s anything we can learn”, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.

The bombings in NY and New Jersey weren’t the only acts of apparent terrorism in the United States over the weekend. The explosion came only hours after the explosion of pipe bombs in New Jersey along the course of a Marine Corps charity run. The race was cancelled and no one was injured.

A team of journalists from KnightNews.com, an independent news source that covers the University of Central Florida, flew up to NY to cover the explosion and investigation first-hand.

U.S. police have released a photo of a man wanted for questioning “in connection” to the recent bombing in NY.

Sources tell ABC News that authorities believe all of this past weekend’s incidents – explosions in Seaside Park and Chelsea explosion, the un-exploded pressure cooker on West 27th Street, and the devices found/detonated at the Elizabeth train station – are connected. Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage said the devices were discovered by two men who saw wires and a pipe coming out of a bag in a trash can.

“The evidence might suggest a foreign connection”, Cuomo said in television interviews on Monday morning.

A suspect in the Chelsea bombings has been identified.

Officials are also investigating a possible link between the Chelsea explosion and one in New Jersey earlier in the day, which may have involved a device that was constructed using similar materials.
