Frank de Boer replaces Mancini as Inter Head coach.

Now, he will take the reigns at Inter, where he will be officially unveiled in a press conference this afternoon.

As a manager, De Boer has been incredibly consistent in recent years winning four consecutive Eredivise titles with Ajax from the 2010-11 season to the 2013-14 season.

This squad has a lot less experience than the current Ajax squad so I expect to be able to bring over my ideas to them quickly.

The club said he “brings with him a wealth of worldwide experience having played at the highest level for both club and country”.

The Nerazzurri have been keen on snapping up Oscar from the Blues, however the exit of Roberto Mancini as coach appears to have changed the picture.

Last season the team was leading the Serie A until the winter break, finishing the season in fourth place and qualifying directly for the group stage of the Uefa Europa League.

Mancini had been Inter boss since November 2014, returning after a previous managerial spell in 2004-2008.

The 19-year-old had already been heavily linked with clubs including Napoli and Milan.

“I hope to get us on the right track as soon as possible”, de Boer told reporters at his unveiling.

At Inter he will have under two weeks to sign more players before the Serie A season starts against Chievo on August 21.

High-level discussions took place with the club’s new Chinese owners in NY last month and, after a third pre-season defeat, they have parted with Mancini just two weeks before the new Serie A season.
