Praising the youth for turning “Startup India” into a reality by embracing the scheme and launching initiatives across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that he was amazed by the level of creativity and the scale of development being displayed by the youngsters.

Speaking about the International Fleet Review, which is being organised in Visakhapatnam from February 4th to 8th, Mr Modi said it is an effort towards coordinating the world’s military power with India. Mr Modi said, Khadi can employ millions of People and recently, the Ministry of Railways, Police, Indian Navy, the postal department of Uttarakhand and many departments have taken steps to promote Khadi.

The Congress Party had earlier termed Prime Minister “Mann ki Baat” as an advertisement, and said that it was a misuse of government machinery.

Pointing out that khadi, which played an important role in the freedom struggle, has became a fashion statement, he said arrangements were being made to ensure that workers in the sector can easily avail benefits of government schemes like Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.

“Geeta and Komal Devi from Rajasthan and Sadhna Devi from Bihar wrote to me on how powering the spinning wheel using solar energy had brought a radical change in their lives”, he added.

He, once again, asked people to have at least one set of Khadi clothing as part of their wardrobe. He said, procedures of the scheme has been simplified by using technology and the premium has also been lowered. “I want to express my gratitude to Haryana, as there has been a rapid increase in birth rate of girl child in the state”. This is also the first time that he would interacting with people this year in 2016. He congratuled Haryana for improving the child sex ratio in the state.
