International Olympic Committee executive arrested for scalping Rio tickets

THG Group is owned by the Marcus Evans Group.
Kevin James Mallon, a director of THG Sports, was arrested in Rio on August 5 in possession of nearly 1,000 premier tickets for Games events.
Mallon was detained on suspicion of illegally reselling tickets at inflated prices and faces charges of false marketing.
Brazilian police have arrested the head of Ireland’s Olympic Council in a scalping investigation.
Police say the Rio committee has told it that it was not informed by the OCI or its authorised ticket reseller Pro10 that some of the OCI’s personal quota was being handed back for general sale.

The IOC official is reported to have rejected a request to include an independent person on the OCI’s probe into the ticketing scam.
