Introducing Hillary Clinton on Thursday night is her daughter, Chelsea
Chelsea Clinton, 36, is remembered as being a shy teenager who grew up in the White House under the glare of the political spotlight. But now she’s embraced the role as a surrogate for her mother, taking on a major part in her family’s foundation. “She’s not one of us, the 99 percent”.

“Gone is the Chelsea who tried to blend in as just another Stanford-educated grind”.
Clinton has jumped around in her career goals.
Still, Chelsea endured years engulfed in drama and the intense media scrutiny that surrounded her family.
Chelsea married hedge fund boss Marc Mezvinsky during a lavish wedding in NY in 2010. He knew a little about being a political scion, too, but nothing on the level Chelsea had to endure. He is the son of former Democratic politicians Marjorie Mezvinsky and Edward Mezvinsky, and was raised in a Conservative Jewish household.
“I’m here as a proud American, a proud Democrat, a proud mother, and a very, very proud daughter”, Chelsea Clinton began in her endorsement of her mother.
Her first foray got off to a rocky start: Stumping for her mother in New Hampshire, she mischaracterized Bernie Sanders’s health-care plan, saying he wanted to “dismantle Obamacare, dismantle the CHIP program, dismantle Medicare and dismantle private insurance”.
After spending time as a management consultant and as a correspondent for NBC, Chelsea Clinton now works for the Clinton Foundation and recently wrote a book for middle-school aged kids.
She has lived in NY since graduating from Stanford University and receiving a master’s degree from Oxford University, a second master’s from Columbia University School of Public Health and a Ph.D.in global relations from Oxford.
She would later return to America and complete earn a doctorate at Columbia University and NYU.
Sometimes, her avoidance of reporters seemed a bit surreal. She worked mostly on feature stories and the network’s “Making a Difference” series.
As she has gotten older, the decision not to give interviews has been hers. She eventually moved to a month-to-month contract and cut ties with the network completely in August 2014, as it became clear her mother was moving to another run for the White House.
In 2010, she married investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, they have two children together, Charlotte, 1, and Aiden, who was born last month. “For women around the world to be safe, to be treated with dignity, and to have more opportunities”, she said.
On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, it was Clinton’s turn to share a side of her mother that many don’t see.

As Ivanka Trump did in her speech at the Republican National Convention, Clinton laid out a defense of a progressive agenda: Ivanka touted equal pay and workplace fairness, while Chelsea touched on issues like child care and LGBT rights.
