Investigation continues into fatal accident involving state trooper
A Colorado State Patrol trooper was killed Sunday night, struck by a vehicle as she was investigating an accident on Interstate 25 south of Denver near Castle Rock, a patrol official said Monday morning.

“The state patrol tweeted about the fallen trooper on Monday morning”, said Colorado State Patrol Chief Scott Hernandez. We offer our thoughts, prayers and full condolences to her family.
Jursevics leaves behind her husband and a young child.
Trooper Jaimie Jursevics joined the Colorado State Patrol in January 2011 and began working at the State Patrol’s Castle Rock office in 2014. A trooper was outside of her auto helping with a crash investigation when she was hit by a vehicle. The interstate reopened just before 5:30 a.m.
He was being held on $1 million bond.

Troopers say about 8:50 Sunday night the trooper was parked on the right shoulder of southbound I-25 near mile marker 175 in Douglas County. The highway was closed at the Plum Creek exit southbound and at the Tomah Road exit northbound.
