Calvin Riley of San Mateo, California was shot in the chest at Aquatic Park, a popular tourist attraction in San Francisco near Ghirardelli Square, according to Gamespot. “It seems to be a random act of violence – for no reason”. “There was nothing said back and forth”. “He saw his friend fall, and whoever did it ran away and possibly got into a vehicle”, Kirby added. “When we got a call at 4:30 a.m. saying he’s gone, I thought I was having a bad dream”. Police said the assailant did not take any of Riley’s belongings or try to rob him.

Kirby did say that Riley was being watch by a man on a hill, but they were engrossed in the game for them to really take notice in a conversation with KGO-TV. Aquatic Park, which is part of the National Park Service, was bustling, even at 10 p.m., Jansing said.
Riley was playing Pokémon Go on his phone when he was shot, a family member said on Facebook and on a GoFundMe account set up for Riley’s funeral expenses. Pockets of people were walking around the area playing “Pokémon Go” on their smartphones.
Police is asking anyone who was at the park around that time to share what they saw with investigators.
Riley had moved to the Bay Area from Lowell, Massachusetts. Along the game’s benefits, Parent Herald reported that playing Pokemon Go has helped children with autism spectrum become more sociable. He listed his favorite baseball team as the Red Sox on the San Joaquin website and identified Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia as his favorite player.

Riley grew up in a quiet neighborhood of San Mateo, where he also played baseball at Junipero Serra High School. “A 20 year old with his best years ahead of him”, Delta College baseball coach Reed Peters said in a statement. “It’s really hard to wrap your brain around it. People are struggling to make sense of it and really trying to focus at this point on support for one another, for teachers, for friends, for colleagues, and certainly moving forward support for his wonderful mom and dad and his brother and sister”, Serra High School Principal Barry Thornton said. “Calvin Riley brought out the best in all of us”.
