A 19-YEAR-OLD HACKER claims to have jailbroken Apple’s iPhone 7 in less than 24 hours.

A lot of Apple users were waiting for the jailbreak of the new Apple operating system, the iOS 10.

Apple is already beta testing iOS 10.1, meaning that this could be sooner than later.

The latest iOS 10.0.1 brings small but significant improvements for better Apple device usage. There are no exceptions to the hackers approaches.

“This is a jailbroken iPhone 7”, Todesco tweeted, accompanying the message with a screenshot that shows a terminal where he has “root”, the highest admin privileges on a computer system. He is keeping the details about how he did it. This way, they made the device to run the newly launched iOS 10.0.1 along with Cydia version 1.1.26. The hacker was even able to get the Cydia Substrate and multiple substrate-based extensions for compatibility reasons. Speculations are that the team might have used an untethered jailbreaking technique since no jailbreaking tool is available.

However, Todesco will not be releasing his jailbreak to the public, at least until Apple patches the vulnerability he discovered, saying that he will now work on smoothing out the process and spotting other bugs in the software.

This is due to Apple’s schedule of major iOS updates, which is due October.

As of now, users are advised not to jailbreak their devices because Apple is planning to release more updates that hope to make jailbreaking virtually impossible.
