There is a drawback, however, to the added option of removing the built-in apps. Now, with the new iOS, users will instead unlock with Touch ID and then tap the bottom of the screen where it says “Press Home to open”.

And that’s great! There are over a dozen apps that come preinstalled on your iPhone, but you won’t find all of them useful for your particular needs, and there’s a better alternative to nearly every one of them. Since these apps are baked inside the iOS 10, their binary application remains inside the device itself.

If removed, the app won’t be available for use with CarPlay. After doing so, the iOS 10 beta for developers can be installed as users would normally do when installing a regular update to the iOS, with future versions of the iOS 10 beta likely also to be received by the user.

Why can’t you delete the pre-loaded apps? Since its apps are now separate from the core operating system, they can be updated more frequently via the App Store.
