In June Apple announced tvOS 10, watchOS 3.0, iOS 10 and macOS Sierra with a plethora of new features. And you can’t get rid of the News app until a later update. The hidden key to iOS 10 beta is especially imperative, as Apple is yet to start testing the public beta for iOS 10 while the first beta of iOS 10 is now restricted to developers with a registered Apple account.

Apple also notes that there may be some unintended consequences to removing some apps. Apple has since improved the app, and it’s now generally considered accurate and reliable. The only way to restore functionality is to reinstall it from the App Store.

In a support note posted to its website this week, Apple warned that “when you remove a built-in app from your Home screen, you also remove any related user data and configuration files”. Essential apps, like Phone, Messages, Maps, and Music are mirrored onto a car’s touchscreen display with simplified controls and can be actuated using Siri.

In order to compete with Facebook and Google, who are making their messaging and texting apps as fully-featured as possible, Apple has made a decision to open up its messaging platform, iMessage, to outside developers. While iOS 10 won’t be available for downloads until the fall, a test version is available now to registered developers and a beta version is expected to be released in July. However with iOS 10, Apple has introduced a ton of changes that will make 3D Touch more compelling than ever, and one of those changes is the introduction of rich notifications.
