Although you may want to wait to install iOS 10 for now, the new software has a lot to offer: There’s a greater emphasis on photos and messaging, an improved Maps interface, and it finally allows you to remove default apps like Stocks or Find My Friends.

The overhaul for Siri in the iOS 10 includes the personal assistant system being integrated in the apps that users use. Keep in mind, though, that data backups you created in iOS 10 do not play nice with earlier versions of the OS. The update introduces several new features, including those supported on the newest iOS 10 release.

Technology site The Verge recommended a step-by-step recovery process which included plugging the iPhone to a Mac computer or PC, before “force restarting” the phone and putting it into recovery mode. Here’s our guide to downloading it and everything you need to know: iOS 10: how to get it.

To help, we’ve put together a game plan for you. While many people have complained that the iOS 10 has bricked their iPhones, which means their devices have become unresponsive after the update, there are many on the internet who are just unhappy the way the iOS 10 looks and functions. Additionally, there are some big changes to the iMessage app with new feature added to it, like stickers, animations and GIF. Apple says deleting the apps saves only about 150 MB of space.

One speed concern that is harder to quantify: The new Photos app, on newer devices, scans your collection for people’s faces and organizes it into “memories”.

This is the least annoying of all the features listed in this post, but we have seen a bunch of complaints about it. Apple’s new contextual Quick Type features in Safari pop up your name, email address and other contact info when you visit a web page with forms that have those fields.

On Tuesday, hundreds of iPhone and iPad users downloaded and installed what they thought was the best iOS yet. You can see headlines, your calendar, the weather, even pending Amazon orders, without unlocking your phone. The biggest one you’ll probably notice is that your phone no longer heads to the home screen after being unlocked with TouchID, instead asking you to then also click the home button.

The new software will also work on the iPod touch 6th generation, but not on any older iPod models.

The issue apparently happened in the first hour and an Apple spokesperson told the outlet that the iOS 10 should be safe to install.
