IOS 10 update is causing major headaches for some users

Apple users who were quick to download its latest iOS 10 software on Tuesday were subject to a major bug that left devices temporarily useless.

Some of the new features in iOS 10 include a new lock screen, there is no longer a slide to unlock feature, the device is now unlocked by pressing the home button. What happened next, required users to connect their phone to a PC synched with iTunes to manually force the update. The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers. Those who tried to update their Apple devices via OTA (Over-The-Air) were the most affected.

When Apple releases a software update of this caliber and on this scale, it’s not uncommon to have to wait your turn in the queue.

Want iOS 10 now?

“Looks like I bricked both iPhone and iPad with iOS update”, Canadian tech entrepreneur Roustern Karimov posted on Twitter, joining a sizable group of angry Apple patrons grumbling about the update online. Several hours after iOS 10 was released, the company claimed that the issue was fixed. All you need to do is login using your Google Play account. Force-restart your device while remain connected: Press and hold both the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for a few seconds until you see the Apple logo. Choose update when you see restore and update options: iTunes will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

When the download is complete, tap Install and tap Agree when Apple shows you its Terms and Conditions.

WhatsApp is rolling out an update for its iOS app.

The new software will also come built in to the new iPhone 7, which along with the larger 7 Plus will go on sale in the United Kingdom on Friday after being announced in San Francisco last week.
