The iOS 10 update is available for the iPhone 5 and newer, iPad mini 2 and newer, iPad 4 and the sixth generation iPod touch. In fact, the Messages app now has its own app store, right, to get additional functionality, sometimes for a fee.

Hundreds of people have taken to Twitter to complain to Apple Support’s account that the update has bricked their device.

Apple released a statement via a Buzzfeed editor saying it had “quickly resolved the issue”. If you have a device that runs on iOS 10, then you should know that from now on, you will be able to not only send messages to your WhatsApp friends, but also make calls via Siri.

Many iPhone users trying to update to iOS 10 Tuesday are instead finding out their phone needs to be connected to a computer with iTunes on it. After you type a message you can tap the emoji keyboard and iOS 10 highlights words you can substitute emoji for. Song lyrics can be seen at the bottom of the player for those who’d like to sing along to the playing song. There is even an invisible ink option.
From here, you can browse notifications, and see widgets that require the iPhone to be unlocked before using (like Activity). Videos will also be larger and autoplay in the home and global feed. After two or three tries my phone finally restored to a clean iOS 10 build.
