A “beta” version of iOS 11 has now been released, but you’ll need to sign up to become an official Apple software tester in order to use it. It’s always a good idea to back up before updating, of course.
Since the OS is still in the public beta phase, we may encounter a couple of bugs which may actually hinder your overall smartphone experience.
Even though Screen Recorder wasn’t mentioned in the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote earlier this month, it remains one of the standout aspects coming out of the beta version.
The release of the public version of Apple’s iOS 11 beta 2 should be available soon enough.
iPad users are also getting a brand new App Dock and App Switcher UI, making it easier to multitask across apps, as well as a sorely needed Drag-and-Drop feature allowing for content to be seamlessly shared between open apps. If you want to switch between 1080p at 60fps and 4K at 30fps (for example) you have to spend about 20 seconds doing it through the Settings app. The update also makes sure that Apple’s TV platform plays nicely with its other software lineup: iOS and macOS. While, as with any operating system update, there are the standard under the hood performance updates, iOS 11 is slated to include several bigger changes for iPhone users. While numerous eager Apple fans who wanted to test iOS 11 already installed the developer beta (whether or not they actually have developer accounts), plenty more wisely waited until Apple had a beta that was stable enough for public consumption. Simply go into the Settings menu, tap General and then tap Profile. Apple has mostly focused on tightening up and straightening out parts of that software – which is great, but will be outweighed by the bugs of beta software and so it’s probably best to wait to update your MacBook or iMac for now.
The iOS 11 beta brings with it big changes to the Maps app, and has a revised Flyover feature that now incorporates elements of virtual reality. Use your Apple ID credentials to proceed.
For the eager beavers, trying the crack out themselves with the public beta of iOS 11 could be possible.
Do Not Disturb While Driving: iOS 11 has a new feature that can prevent you from using your phone while driving.

For those who had enrolled in iOS 10 public beta, you will need to enroll once again for the new iOS 11 program. Apple also added a new document scanner, which means signing documents is easier than ever before. You can also install iOS 11 on a 6th generation iPod Touch, if that’s your jam. This is flawless for when you want to drag a link or an image from one app right into another, and allows you to use your iPad more like a real laptop.
