Iowa State’s Nolan, Schaben Earn All-Region Honors
The trio of Sarah Burrington, Milica Kubura and Nicole Walch were honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday when the organization announced its regional award winners.

The AVCA members voted Murphy to the 14-player Midwest region team, which is one of 10 regions that make up the AVCA’s Division I membership.
In her ninth year at the helm of the Mountaineers, Morehead directed the squad to its first-ever outright CCC regular season title. She is also the first Cyclone freshman to earn an All-Region honor, First Team or Honorable Mention. She also lead NM State with 414 kills, including a season high 20 kills against Denver on September 12.
Both Keene and Rosch, by virtue of their all-region selections, are now eligible for AVCA All-America honors, which will be announced December 16.
Her twin sister, Amber, is a newcomer to the AVCA All-Region team.
Walch, a three-time AVCA all-region honoree, capped off a solid senior season by ranking in the top five of eight team categories including kills (459-1st), kills/set (3.83-1st), service aces (30-1st), digs (305-3rd), digs/set (2.54-3rd), solo blocks (5-t-3rd), total blocks (71-4th) and assisted blocks (65-t-4th).
Boswell leads the WCC in blocks per set, averaging 1.40. Johnson delivers a complete match with 0.50 bps, 2.62 dps, and just under a kill per set at 0.88 kps. She was chosen to the Baden Invitational all-tournament team and produced career numbers in matches throughout the season.
Murphy had a stellar season earning several accolades including being the first Aggie in school history to be named Sport Import/AVCA National Player of the Week.
Hunter leads the Huskers with 11.47 assists per set to rank 12th nationally. She finishes her career on The Farm ranked second all-time in career assists (5,014), becoming just the third player in program history to reach the 5,000 assist plateau.

Stanford has had at least four all-region players for three consecutive seasons. As one of the top right-side hitters in the Pac-12, Abercrombie posted 2.43 kills per set and a. 286 hitting percentage this year and 0.64 blocks per set. A five-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honoree, Hodson led the team with 13 double-doubles this season. The Trojans will face 16th-seeded Creighton (27-8) in the San Diego Regional semifinal on Friday (Dec. 11) at 8 p.m. PT on ESPNU. It will not be televised but will be streamed online at ESPN3.com.
