“Gas prices below $2 a gallon will become more of a common sight in the Southeastern United States”, said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA Auto Club Group.
According to the price-tracking site GasBuddy.com, motorists around Butts County could find gas for about $2.05 per gallon.
Gas prices continue to fall as a new list of highest gas prices in the nation show that Connecticut has dropped to the 15th spot.
Brooklyn motorist Gardner Alva, 62, agreed, saying, “You can’t beat $2.34 a gallon”.
In the state, prices are up about 8 cents per gallon compared with last week, according to a release from GasBuddy.
Just three Midwestern states – Indiana, Ohio and Michigan – saw gas prices increase from last week, but that region has dealt with sporadic gasoline supply issues.
The Massachusetts price is 21 cents lower than a month ago and $1.20 lower than at the same time previous year . “Nearly 1 in 4 stations are now selling gasoline under $2/gallon, and it looks like that list should only grow in the weeks ahead”.
GasBuddy is the premiere source for real-time local gas prices. Oil prices are still falling, but the decline slowed down to only 30 cents last week.
