IPad mini 4 will be Apple’s slimmest yet
A thinner iPad mini is nearly certainly on the way. Specifically, the renderings show the iPad mini 4 being a scant 6.1mm thick, just like its bigger sibling. The current iPad mini 3 is 7.5mm in thickness, so that’s a major degree of slimming down if this speculation is correct – and given the smaller frame of the compact iPad, this will be an even more portable and convenient device to carry around (presumably it will weigh a bit less, too).

Apple is yet to reveal its new iPad Mini 4 but a reliable leakster has shared a new image, showing what is allegedy iPad Mini 4. Shaving 1.4mm off is impressive, especially for a device that can be wielded with one hand, though let’s be real, it’s not like the iPad mini 3 is chunky by any stretch of the imagination. OnLeaks previously posted photos of the next-gen iPad mini’s casing, which didn’t offer much insight into how thin it would be or what new features the smaller tablet would include. This seems to contradict earlier reports suggesting that no new iPad Air will be launched this year. In particular, we’re expecting a scaled-down version of the iPad Air 2, with the same 8-megapixel rear iSight camera, A8 processor, and 2GB of RAM.
The A9 processor is developed by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Samsung, which both partner with Apple.

However some rumors and reports claim that Apple could uncover its most recent iPads at a foreseen iPhone media event on September 9.
