IPad Pro Available in Canada Wednesday

Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad Pro aired nationwide on television during Monday Night Football on November 9, sporting a galactic theme, reminiscent of the iPad Pro’s unveiling in September.

At $169, Apple’s new “Smart Keyboard”, connects to the iPad Pro’s smart connector port, carrying power and data to the keyboard.

Both the accessories will need to be purchased separately, with the Apple Pencil costing £79, and the smart keyboard £139. After using this extra large iPad for more than a week (we tested a $1,079 Wi-Fi + Cellular 128GB model in gold), we’ve got our fair share of impressions. We went hands-on with the hardware last month, which you can read all about right here.

Unfortunately for users on the other side of the pond, the iPad Pro can not be ordered just yet.

While many people set their alarms and wake up at the stroke of midnight to order new iPhones, this iPad launch is likely to see less enthusiasm. Pre-orders have started at a few retail stores such as Sam’s Club, MacMall, and Staples. It is thin, light and delivers all-day 10-hour battery life that users have come to expect from iPad.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook says nearly the same thing that Microsoft’s former CEO Steve Ballmer stated in 2012, when Redmond introduced the original Surface RT tablet: the iPad Pro, which has its own detachable keyboard and support for pen, can replace your laptop. Other accessories include Smart Covers that will cost $59, and silicone cases, priced at $79.

“Not in the next five years”, Jean Philippe Bouchard, research director of tablets for IDC, told NBC News.

The iPad’s 64-bit A9X chip could rival most portable PCs and is again, the most powerful in any mobile Apple product. Per the press release, “iPad Pro has already inspired developers of the next generation of advanced apps for everything from productivity, design, illustration, engineering and medical, to education, gaming and entertainment”.
