IPhone 7, 7 Plus debuts in Chinese market amid heavy demand

Some of those who wanted the iPhone 7 Plus will eventually settle for the iPhone 7, while others who wanted the iPhone 7 anyway will not be affected by this issue if they were shooting for the other color options aside from Jet Black. She also said she was disappointed with Apple’s controversial decision to remove the phone’s headphone jack.

And if that doesn’t convince you that iPhones are still hot property, tech fans once again queued to pick up the new phone.

Customers who enter Apple Stores Friday, when the gadgets hit shelves, will not be able to purchase the sold-out phones on site, but they can continue to place orders for their desired models online, Apple said.

A report released by Slice recently shows that, out of the shoppers polled by the research firm, 55 percent of new iPhone buyers pre-ordered the iPhone 7 Plus while 45 percent pre-ordered the smaller iPhone 7 model.

Outside an Apple Store in Hong Kong, sports coach Kala Singh said he’d reserved his matte black iPhone 7 a week ago.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 starts at $649 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus starts at $769. At the time the picture was taken, the line had not been separated into pre-orders for store pickup, and for people waiting for the phone for retail sale.

In Singapore, some fans set up tents to camp out on Thursday night in a bid to be the one of the first few to get their hands on the handsets. Silver was more popular than Gold in the previous release cycle, but now Gold has made a comeback for the iPhone 7, and is more popular than Silver. This time the iPhone maker won’t disclose the initial weekend sales numbers for the new models, thus leaving analysts guessing at early demand. Another visible change consists in implementing the dual rear cameras new setup.

Candy Leung, 26, who bought a 7 Plus model, seemed unimpressed by the new wireless earphones: “My first impression is that they could be lost really easily”.
