IPhone 7 & 7 Plus Preorders Exceed Previous iPhone 6 Records By Bounds

All those Apple fans in India excited for company’s new models iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can calm their nerves now as the pre-booking has started for the new smartphones. The two phones might look almost identical to last year’s models, but with updated cameras, faster processors and a missing headphone jack, there are plenty of significant changes to attract potential upgraders.

In particular, pre-orders for the latest iPhone at T-Mobile were up almost four times compared to T-Mobile’s next most popular iPhone, the “iPhone 6”, which was released two years ago.

“In years past, we’ve announced how many new iPhones had been sold as of the first weekend following launch”, the statement noted. So because teardowns don’t yet exist, the only information available about the the hardware inside the new devices is that provided by Apple before the device officially launches.

Last Friday also set a single-day sales record for any smartphone ever in the carrier’s history. The home button in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is force sensitive touch surface, which is not clickable like its predecessors. However, the companies did not disclose specific sales numbers. Because of its efficient processors, the iPhone 7 is able to take on more intensive tasks, reducing power consumption. In the USA, the iPhone 7 will be priced at $649 and up. The handsets come with IP67 rating signifying the fact that it is water and dust resistant, a first for the Apple smartphone.

IPhone 7 features a 4.7-inch display with 3D touch, while iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch Retina HD display with 3D touch.

When the first teardowns arrive, technology enthusiasts will likely be hoping to see how Apple engineers have managed to use the extra space gifted to them by the removal of the headphone jack, and whether that’s where they found the extra space for the higher battery capacities. There’s nothing like a little friendly fire to boost the competition.
