T-Mobile said orders for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus over the weekend (Friday through Monday) “shattered all previous pre-order records” at the carrier.

While customers who are on traditional carrier upgrade plans were able to pre-order the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus just fine, iPhone Upgrade Program customers were greeted with a “check back later” splash page. For that reason, the company said it decided that initial sales figures were “no longer a representative metric for our investors and customers”. However this proprietary jack could complicate things further as it would mean that headphone manufacturers would have to make headphones with the 3.5mm jack, USB-C, Lightning, Bluetooth, and whatever proprietary format Samsung is thinking of launching. Both these new phones are expected to come out in the markets starting from September 16, 2016.
