Over in the U.S., a Reddit user is claiming that AT&T is allowing new pre-orders of the “Jet Black” iPhone to go through, but is listing the option as sold out for existing customers trying to upgrade. Last year, the iPhone 6s’ Rose Gold was the colour everyone wanted, and this year both black colour options will take that place. The design is in line with the iPhone 6S, but has been improved.

This means users can create a zoom feature, via the camera app as before, but now witha new 1X button above the shutter.

“The 12-megapixel camera includes optical image stabilisation and a larger ƒ/1.8 aperture and 6-element lens enabling brighter, more detailed photos and videos, and a wide colour capture allows for more vibrant colors with more detail”, an Apple spokesman said. That’s a huge delay considering the actual iPhone 7 release date is September 16. Carphone Warehouse offers the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus on contracts with EE, O2, Vodafone and iD, although the retailer hasn’t yet announced SIM-free versions.
But either way it seems to have worked, as availability of the new phone dwindles.
The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. The iPhone 7 in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB configurations are priced at £599, £699 and £799 on the Apple Store. Apple’s website is showing that some models are already backordered by several weeks in their store, though, including the new Black and Jet Black models.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will launch on September 16, and so that’s when we should begin to see pre-orders get delivered.
The larger iPhone 7 Plus will be even more of a wallet buster than it’s smaller sibling. Put another way, every iPhone 7 Plus model available for September 16th delivery has been claimed.

Essentially, Apple is telling you that if you buy the iPhone 7 in Jet Black finish, you can either slap it into a case where no one really gets to see what colour iPhone you have, or you could flaunt the finish without a case and watch it turn ugly right in front of your eyes.
