IPhone 7 – Bluetooth vs. the headphone jack

Apple unveiled its new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Wednesday, highlighting a lot of under-the-hood changes to its most important product.

The design is a bit different as the lines have given way to solid colour, among them a matte-finish solid black and glossy jet black versions.

Still, if you want to charge and listen to headphones with a 3.5mm jack, you’ll need to plug the iPhone 7’s 3.5mm adapter into Belkin’s adapter in an unholy cluster of dongles.

Other companies like AT&T also announced a promo for the new iPhone 7.

Belkin’s new adapter solves that problem by turning your iPhone’s single Lightning port into two. Or you can use wireless headphones, which also have to be charged and cost $159. Adding in the 3.5mm to Lightning adapter makes the situation even worse, with a total of two adapters and a Lightning cord plugged into the iPhone. It is believed that Apple will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone (which happens to be next year) with a massive redesign and a brand new body that will use a glass surface.

As you can read above, while Apple says that it is as hard as other anodized products, including iPhones, the shine may (and will) show scratches with use.

“AirPods introduce an effortless wireless listening experience packed with high-quality audio and long battery life, coming in late October”, said Apple in a press release. “That means iPhone 7 owners and any other phone models adopting this change in approach will have one less reason that they might be parted with their smartphone for fix”.

Apple made no adjustments to iCloud storage as far as I can tell, still starting at the lousy 5GB for free.

That means it will match any iPhone color including black, space gray, silver, gold, and rose gold. The shipping will begin on September 13, and it will hit the market on September 16, Digital Trends reported.
