IPhone 7 headphone glitch stops remote control from working

However, this is not the only issue for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users, as it seems iOS 10 is causing some Airplane Mode issues, where if it is turned on then off, people have been losing cellular access.

As reported by iPhone 7 users around the world, the error affects not only the bundled Lightning EarPods but also third-party headsets that are connected via the Lightning-to-3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter. For instance, if the user is listening to music, he/she won’t be able to change track or control volume or activate Siri and when a call comes, user can’t switch from music to phone to answer the call.

The glitch occurs a few minutes after plugging the new EarPods into the Lightning port.

Perhaps Apple’s decision to drop the headphone jack in its new iPhone isn’t as obviously bad as it seems. If you have a new iPhone 7, you can customize your feedback via Settings General Home Button. You need to find a new way to listen to music, and Apple gave you two options.

AppleInsider reports that “numerous” social media posts have shown a glitch in the EarPods’ controlling software can render the inline remote control module entirely useless.

Without the traditional headphone jack, wired headphones plug into the Lightning port normally used for charging.

Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, told the audience at Apple’s recent product event, “It makes no sense to tether ourselves to cables with our mobile devices”.

Another year, another highly anticipated iPhone release for Pace students and people all over to obsess over. Localytics only measures data from users who have received their phones and started using apps. Some users think that it looks cool and handy, but others were more anxious about it staying in their ears as they move around. Or your iPhone 7 is just not connecting to the cellular network.

This problem once again reiterates our belief that Apple pulled the trigger on the 3.5mm jack a bit too early. In the meantime, we’re reaching out to Apple for comment on this video to see if they can offer up an explanation for the slower times exhibited by their new device.
