IPhone 7 hits Apple store shelves
Fans in Sydney weathered drizzle to line up outside the Apple Store, becoming some of the world’s first owners of the new models.

Also sold out was the jet-black iPhone 7 although shoppers could find the phone in other colours.
There is absolutely no pricing difference between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case.
Samsung Electronics America said Note 7 replacement units will be available in the U.S.at most retail stores by September 21.
In Tokyo, student Rei Yokoyama, who queued in front of a store since 4.00am, was unable to get an iPhone 7 Plus.
The cheaper iPhone 7 in silver, gold and rose gold was the only new device available at the Union Square Apple store Friday morning, but they were going fast.
Lines have clearly formed in some locations – mostly in large cities with big metropolitan communities – while others remain open and ready to roll with most if not all iPhone 7 models.
Apple did its usual launch performance with the customers cheered by frantic staff as they bought the shiny toy, but it could not hide the fact the queues were much shorter than before.
Apple is banking on some of its new features to attract more buyers, like making them water resistant, adding a beefed up camera and new headphones.
Apple said during the online pre-order period, initial quantities of the iPhone 7 Plus in all styles sold out, along with the iPhone 7 in the jet black finish.
Those who really want the shiny jet-black finish can still order the phone they want – though it will require patience. That’s “mostly” because the $769 starting price for the larger iPhone 7 Plus is $20 more than comparable past models.
But Abhey Lamba, managing director and senior technology analyst at investment bank Mizuho Securities USA, said Thursday the thin inventory at stores could be a sign that Apple was expecting a quieter than usual release and reduced supply accordingly.

Skeptics have said that Apple’s decision indicates it’s anxious that the latest phones, which are more of an incremental update than many had hoped, won’t sell in the way we have come to expect from Apple.
