IPhone 7 release date brings headphone jack and Lightning charging headaches
You can connect those to the iPhone 7 in exactly the same way as you would your iPhone 6s, and as you would Apple’s new wireless AirPods.

Apple has reportedly ramped up both chip and component orders for the Apple Watch Series 2, with monthly shipment orders for August and September both surpassing two million units. That means that you can not charge your mobile and listen to music or use a headset to talk to someone all at the same time. The downside is you don’t own your phone, but the upside is you get a new phone each year. The new iPhone comes equipped with better cameras, water resistance, and more in the latest Apple phone upgrade. You just flip open the white case, wait for the blinking white light, and set it down near your iPhone.
A new iPhone 7 starts at $649 for 32 gigabytes of storage, double the base storage of previous iPhones, while an iPhone 7 Plus starts at $769.
As CNNMoney reporter Heather Kelly put it after trying the headphones, “Imagine, if you will, a pair of classic white Apple headphones”. What I’m far more miffed about to is not being able to use my phone comfortably anymore with one hand, or being able to fit it comfortably in the pocket of my gym shorts or even my jeans.
Apple says that removing the audio port is just a sample of courage because, sooner or later, somebody had to do it. It’s also really easy to misplace, and you’re probably going to lose one faster than you can explain what a Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack does.
Maybe it’s time to buy some Bluetooth headphones.
Will third-party headphones work with the iPhone 7? In fact, this option already accounts for the majority of headphone sales (by revenue) in the USA, according to NPD. But leave it to Apple – which bought top headphone brand Beats in 2014 for $3 billion – to go the extra mile to make its new AirPods the ideal show pony for our cable-free future.
So for those of us who like to listen to music while charging our phones, we’re not totally screwed.
