IPhone 7: Samsung turns on Apple’s plans to ditch headphone slot

Samsung Electronics continues to drive the smartphone market with the Galaxy Note 7 by building on the company’s category-defining leadership with innovative features that set a new standard for large-screen devices. Interested buyers need not wait longer as this promotional deal reportedly starts on August 3.

IP68 certificationLike the Galaxy S7 before it, the Galaxy Note 7 ships with IP68 certification, which means it can withstand up to five metres of water for up to 30 minutes. Six years later, the Note series is still popular.

The Galaxy Note 7 also has a High Dynamic Range video streaming capability, enabling users to enjoy high-quality videos and games.

The Note 7 differs in that it has support for microSD cards and 64GB of internal storage, compared to the S7’s 32GB, and its battery has been increased to 3,500mAh over the Note 5’s 3,000mAh cell.

And while the Note 5’s S Pen was a great feature in itself, Samsung enhanced the same in the Galaxy Note 7.

While the Galaxy Note 4 might still be able to put on an impressive show, the upgrades of the Galaxy Note 7 in terms of hardware will dwarf what the former has to offer.

The year is barely half over, but already it looks like Samsung will emerge as the top dog among Android-powered smartphones.

Samsung, the Korean technology giant, has now unveiled its next flagship phablet – Galaxy Note 7. Despite that, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6 joined the Galaxy S7 Edge among the three most popular smartphones in that period.

There’s also a new iris scanner, which unlocks the device with your eyes, and a next-generation S Pen stylus which lets you jot down notes on the screen – even when it is switched off. The front edges of the phone are curved like the Galaxy S7 Edge, but so are the back edges.

The Note 7 has a 5.7-inch superAMOLED screen.

On the whole, the handset is much like Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge, a variant of the Galaxy S7 that debuted just this March.

T-Mobile customers can buy the device for $850, while AT&T has it priced at $880, spread over its payment plans.
