IPhone 7 Upgrade Program gets more Inventory, Apple Stores Lose Out

USA wireless carriers Sprint (S) and T-Mobile US (TMUS) have announced that Apple (AAPL) iPhone 7 pre-orders are off to a strong start, countering earlier reports that indicated weak demand for the new smartphones. (NASDAQ:TMUS), said that pre-orders of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have “gone on to shatter all previous iPhone pre-order records at T-Mobile”. It’s all about the “iPhone 7”.

IPhone 7 and 7 Plus pre-orders are up from a year ago, but the tenth-anniversary iPhone that’s expected to be released in 2017 might be worth waiting for, The Verge’s executive editor Walt Mossberg said on CNBC’s “Squawk Alley” on Tuesday afternoon. The carrier led the domestic market in connection growth through the first half of the year, though porting ratios have been a source of debate.

The Sprint and T-Mobile reports are encouraging news for Apple, Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White said in a report.

In an email sent to customers on the iPhone Upgrade Program, Apple says “we’ve added more reservation times for Friday, September 16”.

The new device is also claimed to have the “best battery life ever in an iPhone”, enhanced stereo speakers, and is supposedly the first “water and dust resistant” smartphone from Apple.

For that reason, the company said it decided that initial sales figures were “no longer a representative metric for our investors and customers”. The device should be released very soon and pre-orders are going to roll in quickly so don’t hesitate to make a purchase soon.

In the US, the iPhone 7 will sell for the same amount as the iPhone 6S when it was released – $649 without tax. Apple is also changing something people did countless times a day; it’s hard to unlearn years of training simply because the company updated iOS.

The company, according to New York Times, is completely removing the Home Button from next year’s iPhone. Apple has not disclosed the price of the other storage versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. And as expected, one of the biggest changes in the newest model is the absence of the built-in headphone jack.

One of the distributors for Apple in India, Beetel Teletech Ltd, said it will start deliveries of the two phones at 7pm on October 7. There’s nothing like a little friendly fire to boost the competition.
