Apple Inc released the next generation of the iPhone at its annual launch event Wednesday in San Francisco- the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

But when Canadians place their orders for Apple’s newest smartphone, they could be in for some sticker shock. The price cut comes right after the launch of latest iPhones.
While customers in countries like the US, Australia, the United Kingdom and China will be able to buy the handsets beginning September 16, Indians will have to wait for a few weeks. And others still require a bit more elbow grease.
In fact, analysts at IHS believe it cost Apple just $6 (£4.50) for 16GB of the NAND flash memory used in the iPhone 6S.
The Apple Watch Series 2 is now official, and it’s packing in a lot of features aimed at fitness and outdoor enthusiasts, particularly how it’s swim-proof.
The biggest iPhone technical improvements all had leaked, and Apple itself spoiled the surprise by sending out tweets of some details before Cook spoke. The company then deleted the messages. But Mike Binger, senior portfolio manager at Gradient Investments LLC in Minneapolis, said the new phone encouraged him that Apple was in good shape for a new sales cycle. Thanks to a software upgrade later this year, iPhone 7 Plus owners will be able to enhance their pictures by using depth-of-field effects to blur the background but keep foreground subjects in focus.
The world’s best-known technology company said the iPhone 7 would have one, zooming 12-megapixel camera.
Prices have not increased in the US, The Verge reported. The larger 7 “Plus” edition, starting at $769, would feature two cameras, including a telephoto lens.
Lightning connectors were designed from the outset to handle high-quality audio, Apple vice president Phil Schiller told the audience, addressing concerns about the headphone jack removal. Apple includes the adapter. It also has no physical home button, using a touch version in place.
The new phone will start shipping in major markets, including the United States and China, on September 16.
The new jet black finish will be offered exclusively on the 128GB and 256GB models from Apple authorised resellers and select carriers, the Cupertino-based tech giant announced. And it’s the same story for the iPhone 7 Plus.
Its biggest rival is Samsung’s Galaxy range, which outsold the iPhone 6 in United Kingdom stores for the first time this year. Many are expecting a three-year cycle this time, culminating in a major redesign for 2017 to be called iPhone 8.
The new Series 2 watch has a greater focus on health and exercise tracking.

“I predict Watch sales will improve dramatically”, said tech analyst Patrick Moorhead.
