IPhone 7s hit stores, while Galaxy phones go back
With the exploding battery problem of the Galaxy Note 7 hounding Samsung today, there is one silver lining to all of it – the possibility that the South Korean tech giant might be forced to release its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, sooner than later. While speaking with reporters, Kaye appeared to blast Samsung for not coordinating with his agency. Those who have purchased the phone prior to September 15 are more likely to have a faulty device.

Samsung Electronics America said Note 7 replacement units will be available in the U.S.at most retail stores by September 21. Major U.S carriers and retailers are working with the company and issuing refunds or replacements for the phones.
The recall comes as Samsung is locked in a fierce battle with Apple for the attentions of high-end smartphone buyers.
Long lines formed at some stores Friday as the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus went on sale, more than a week after they were unveiled at an Apple launch event.
Just last week airlines banned the Note 7 from planes.
“With battery cell defects in some of our Note 7 phones, we did not meet the standard of excellence that you expect and deserve”. It said property damage included fires in cars and a garage.
A top Samsung executive in the United States on Thursday apologized to customers and pledged to expedite the recall.
Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America, said in a statement.
“Our collaboration with the CPSC to fast-track a voluntary recall in the United States addresses safety concerns by ensuring we reach Note 7 owners quickly to exchange their devices”, Samsung America president Tim Baxter said.
A week later, the company and the commission issued separate statements that urged consumers to stop using the Note 7. Sprint has also officially announced they would be following this timeline for replacing customer devices. You’ve got a couple of ways to check your phone’s recall status.

Some purchasers of the Note 7 say they’re willing to try another Samsung device. This official recall prevents affected Galaxy Note 7 devices from being sold elsewhere such as eBay.
