IPhone wireless charging set for 2017
Apple has stated in the past that the company is not interested in releasing wireless-charging solutions that still require something to be plugged in. That would be a pretty big convenience, though first Apple and its partners would have to figure out how to make it feasible. Back at the iPhone 5 launch in 2012, Apple Senior VP Phil Schiller said that wireless charging doesn’t offer any convenience because of the reliance on a charging plate.

Furthermore, the source whose identity has been kept veiled by Bloomberg also revealed that the wireless technology that Apple is currently working on will be far removed from what we have seen till now.
With the cutting edge wireless charging technology and the all-in-one lightning connector, Apple might further widen the gap between them and their rivals.
The iPhone was clearly a revolutionary device, but Apple has sometimes struggled to differentiate its iconic handset with high-end Android devices in recent years.
China’s 4G users and a booming middle-class market, which is expected to hit 500 million in 2020 from 50 million now, will propel demand for iPhones and iPads over the long term, said Cook. What if we were to get a wireless charging iPhone in 2017!
Rival companies already have wireless charging as standard and you would think that Apple are now working out the necessities required for the iPhone to follow suit.
What is worth mentioning here is the fact that Apple applied for a patent in late 2012.
The wireless charging technology is not a new concept, especially since Samsung, Sony, and Google have implemented such feature to their smartphones.
