Prithvi Shaw has been getting Delhi Daredevils off to some electric starts in the recent matches.
Delhi immediately invited more trouble for themselves after skipper Iyer (3) was caught short of the non-striker’s end by a mile, thanks to his bad miscommunication with Pant for the second time this season. The two were just starting to form a partnership when disaster struck in the form of a run-out. Pant… Pant… Take A Bow! There are a lot of things that we need to improve like fielding, game awareness, even batting or bowling can be further improved.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was taken to the cleaners by Pant and he ended with figures of 1/51 in four overs and SRH got a reality check ahead of the business end of the tournament.
In 2017, Pant broke the first-class record of the fastest century by an Indian batsman with a blink-and-you-miss 48-ball ton, his second of the match, against Jharkhand during the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season. Later, skipper Shreyas Iyer was run out for three runs, Rishabh Pant was involved in a runout.
Williamson and Indian worldwide Shikhar Dhawan, who made 92 not out, put on 176 for the second wicket.
Rishabh Pant, from Delhi, blasted the bowling attack of Sunrisers Hyderabad and hit a century in 56 balls.
He smashed 15 boundaries and seven sixes in his 63-ball knock and remained unbeaten.
The Clinical Chase: The chances of any of the Sunrisers matching Pant’s individual exploits were slim, but also unnecessary thanks to the combined efforts of captain Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order. “Dinesh deserves more than anybody else because I think he is a very very good player”. In his whole innings he scored 83 runs in 53 an hit 2sixes while 8 fours.
Shikhar Dhawan was chosen as the Player of the Match.
