Iran has no plan to buy S-400 air defense system from Russian Federation, the Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said.

On Tuesday, Russia used the Iranian base for the first time in its anti-terrorism campaign in Syria.

“We can not agree with this position, since as soon as we do so, terrorists will be changing names and will be using other slogans”, the Iranian defense minister said. However, when they saw what was invested was in vain, and that their safety was at risk, Ankara concluded that the organization harms Islam. “We have to say that the policy of Turkey and some countries in the region are supporting the Zionist entity”.

As regards the S-300 system, which Moscow had undertaken to sell to Tehran under a 2007 contract, Dehqan said Iran has voluntarily terminated a lawsuit against Russian Federation after the delivery of the missile system to Iran began.

He further said that the Islamic Republic has canceled the complaint against Russian Federation over the non-delivery of S-300 air defense system, as Russian Federation fulfilled its commitments.

Russian Federation has delivered main part of the air defense system to Iran under the existing contract, Dehghan said, adding Tehran will completely receive the S-300 air defense system within next month. “This is a relationship that has become a strategic cooperation”, he said.
