PM Modi will wind up his two day state visit to Iran by meeting the Supreme Leader of the host nation, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In his remarks at the press conference, Narendra Modi described the agreement as a “key milestone”, adding that India will provide $500 million to develop Chabahar port.
Further, he said that India and Iran shared interest in the growth and prosperity of each other and that it was a privilege for him to visit the Islamic republic.
“Prime Minister’s visit to Iran will thus impart a timely impetus to the ongoing efforts of the two countries and their business entities to expand bilateral cooperation and mutually benefit from new opportunities in the wake of lifting of sanctions against Iran earlier this year”, he added.
Prime Minister Modi also praised the Sikh community living in Tehran for carrying out the traditions despite facing hard times.

The US Congress has been a source of strength for the India-US strategic partnership and the India Congressional Caucus is the largest such group in the US Congress, the MEA said.
“Iran-India relations have always been of significance and today these ties can serve the interests of the two nations and the whole region”, Rouhani said.
“Since India possesses numerous advantages in areas of new technologies like nanotechnology and aerospace, it was chose to deepen relations between academics and research centers of both parties”, underlined Hassan Rouhani.
Another preliminary pact between India’s EXIM Bank and the Central Bank of Iran to extend credit of up to Rs 3,000 crore for the import of steel rails and implementation of Chabahar port was also signed.
The energy sector, he said, was one of the most important dimensions of bilateral economic ties and with investment in development of Farzad-B gas field, the relationship would go beyond the buyer-seller dealings to being genuine partners.

On the first day of his visit that is expected to strengthen trade, investment and energy ties with Iran, Modi began his engagements paying obeisance to the capital city’s only functioning gurudwara.
