Iran keen to become part of China-Pak Economic Corridor

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has strongly criticized suppression of protests by archrival India in the disputed territory of Kashmir, during his speech in the UN General Assembly. The two sides noted that progress on Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and electricity import from Iran would help overcome Pakistan’s energy shortages in the coming years, it said.

The lifting of global sanctions against Iran has paved the way for resumption of economic relations between the two countries.

Indian media’s frenzy seemed to cross all the limits on Thursday as a TV channel went on to air a statement from a hard-line Hindu organization that announced Rs10 million as head-money for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

On the occasion, the Nepalese Foreign Minister said Pakistan is an important country of South Asia, and his country wants to promote ties with Pakistan.

Opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, especially oil, gas and electricity were also discussed.

Referring specifically to Afghanistan, the Pakistani leader underlined that progress will be assured only when the Afghan parties themselves conclude that there is no military solution to the conflict there and work diligently, through a meaningful dialogue process, to achieve reconciliation and peace within the country.

Iran has expressed its desire on Wednesday to be part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Iranian President said there is a need for defence cooperation between Iran and Pakistan. “Iran is a brotherly country”.

Eighteen Indian solders were martyred as militants attacked in Uri town of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

“We will give 1 crore rupees to him who will decapitate Nawaz Sharif”, a leader of Rashtriya Karanti Dal said.

Cooperation in multilateral fora, particularly SAARC was also discussed.

The Iranian President said that the future of Iran and Pakistan was bright.

The Prime Minister said Turkey promised to send a fact finding mission to Occupied Kashmir, and a similar response was given by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
