Since late September, Russian Federation has been carrying out bombings against the ISIL terrorists in Syria, after Russia’s parliament granted President Putin authorization to deploy the country’s air force overseas.

Putin’s decree allows Russian Federation to import enriched uranium from Iran in exchange for natural uranium, and cancels any previous restrictions on dealings between the two countries in the nuclear technology field.

“While a few countries only imitate action in the fight against terrorism, our two countries have shown how to deal with the issue in a serious way, ” Rouhani said.

A Kremlin spokesman was quoted by Interfax news agency as saying that Putin and Khamenei had agreed at their talks that global powers should not impose their political will on Syria. Iran and Russia will develop closer cooperation in anti-terrorist efforts, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday after talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

After the meeting Putin stressed that “political negotiations” are the only viable way of reaching a final resolution to the Syrian crisis, but for now, Russia’s air campaign is yielding “positive results”, an assessment that is shared by the Iranian side.

Khamenei accused the United States and its allies of trying “to achieve through diplomacy and at the negotiating table the goals they could not achieve by military means in Syria”.

“Unlike certain parties, we are committed to never stab our partners in the back or take any behind-the-stage move against our friends and to resolve any differences that may arise through dialogue”, Putin added, FNA reports.

The Turkmen leader voiced uneasiness about Russian Federation using the Caspian Sea for a few of the strikes on Syria, but Putin said using the Caspian would continue “for as long as we see necessary to punish the culprits” behind the plane attack. Russian Federation and Iran are against “external attempts to dictate scenarios of political settlement” in the conflict-wracked state, and only Syria’s people could decide to dump Assad in elections following a ceasefire. “The United States has no right to ignore the voice of the Syrian people”.
