Iran’s Khamenei warns against US ‘deceit’ in nuclear deal

“The US sanctions against Iran’s ballistic missile program… have no legal or moral legitimacy”, he said.

“I reiterate the need to be vigilant about the deceit and treachery of arrogant countries, especially the United States, in this (nuclear) issue and other issues”, Khamenei said.

Under the deal, Iran admitted to cap its nuclear activities in return to lifting sanctions from the country. The bank’s assets were frozen in 2007 because of its reported involvement with Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran condemned the new sanctions and their Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan stated the new United States sanctions would have no effect.

He added that Tehran saw fresh economic sanctions as “illegitimate”.

After reaching a deal about restrictions to the development of its nuclear program, Iran’s sanctions have finally been lifted.

The UN atomic agency minutes earlier confirmed it had issued a report verifying that Iran carried out those steps, which significantly scale back its nuclear infrastructure.

“Iran’s ballistic missile program poses a significant threat to regional and global security, and it will continue to be subject to worldwide sanctions”, Treasury Undersecretary Adam Szubin said in a statement. Donald Trump said the fact the prisoners were held as long as they were was a “disgrace”, which would suggest Trump supported a military intervention to secure release of us prisoners overseas if Trump were known to think at all about the meaning of the things he said.
