Iran’s Rouhani suggests U.S.-Iran prisoner swap

Rouhani also said that recent deadly crush in Saudi Arabia was the result of Saudi authorities’ incompetence and mismanagement.

Once the worldwide Atomic Energy Agency declares that Iran has lived up to its end of the deal, the US, the European Union and the United Nations will begin to lift sanctions, providing Iran with over $50 billion.

He recognised the role of the U.S., the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Germany, and China, as well as Iran, in achieving the agreement. Challenged as to how to explain to Americans chants of “Death to America” heard during weekly prayers and sanctioned rallies in Iran, Rouhani said such slogans are more an expression of “the depth of opposition to the policies of United States in the region”.

INSKEEP: Speaking through an interpreter, Rouhani referred to two great political camps in Iran.

Iran needs $150 billion of investment to reach 8 per cent growth a year and lower youth unemployment, President Hassan Rouhani said in an address to Iranian-Americans in New York on Saturday. “We’ve had a few conversations but we’ll wait and see where we are”, Kerry added. The U.S. Marine veteran was visiting family in Tehran when he was arrested.

It’s a testament to “the strength of the worldwide system when it works the way it should”, President Obama said before the United Nations during his speech earlier in the day.

Iranian president said that the country is committed to commence nuclear deal (achieved on July 14) entirely. But regardless of what is happening behind the scenes in Iran’s opaque and byzantine governmental structures, the fact remains that Rouhani has not even spoken out against many of these abuses. “If we did not have the United States military invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the US’s unwarranted support of the actions of the Zionist regime against the oppressed nation of Palestine, today the terrorists would not have an excuse for the justification of their crimes”.

Monday’s rally was led by the Organization of Iranian-American Communities and the National Council of Resistance of Iran. Americans may not like Syria’s government, he says, but Iran needs to prop it up to avoid a risky leadership vacuum. “It was very odd the things they spoke of”.

On Syria, Rouhani emphasizes that predominately Shiite Tehran – supportive of the regime of President Bashar Assad – is most concerned with eliminating the threat from the Sunni-dominated Islamic State militia, which has captured large swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria and carried out atrocities against civilians in the areas they control.

“Increasing environmental awareness across the board, introducing environmental education in school curriculums, revamping dam building policies, reviving endangered wetlands and exerting round the clock efforts to preserve endangered lakes are all examples of only a small part of our commitment towards the sustainable development goals”, said President Rouhani.
