Iran shows off underground missile base

This is evidenced by the fact that, according to CNN, the USA is preparing to refer the case of the Emad nuclear weapons test to the UN Security Council to consider whether it is a violation of Resolution 1929 banning Iran’s continued ballistic missile activities.

Obama said the test and the deal are “entirely separate”, explained that scrapping the landmark agreement wouldn’t do change Iran’s behaviour, and indicated that though the United States will continue to enforce existing sanctions it would not seek to introduce new ones.

The footage comes just days after it reportedly test-fired long-range ballistic missiles.

Iranian officials have said the nuclear agreement will not affect its military forces, particularly its ballistic missile programme. Earlier this month, Hajizadeh said during a speech at a university in Tehran that all of the USA military bases in the Middle-East were within reach of Iranian missiles. Though Congress couldn’t muster the votes to block implementation of the nuclear agreement concluded this summer between the United States, Iran, and four other nations, they are vowing to take further steps to stall the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is scheduled to be formally adopted by October, 18. To admit Iranian wrongdoing at this point is to admit the foolishness of his desperate efforts to get the deal, including the many inappropriate concessions he made and the obvious requests, such as the release of American prisoners, that he failed to make. Given the small warhead size on missiles, the most likely use for them is to carry a weapon of mass destruction – either a chemical, biological or nuclear warhead.

Power wouldn’t say whether she believed the Iranian action violated the “spirit” of the deal.

Having multiple launch pads per base can support the fuelling of several liquid-propelled missiles – a relatively lengthy process that normally compromise those missiles to enemy preventive attack.

Zarif told the news conference that “nuclear weapons have no place in the military doctrine of Iraq” and said that the missile program of the Islamic Republic does not violate United Nations resolutions. The launch pads are quickly prepared for new missiles, as they provide merely the level surface for standard trailer-mounted erector-launchers.

“That is work that requires global cooperation”, he said, adding that Washington was ready to work with Gulf allies to counter Iran’s ballistic missile program.

Indeed, Iran has indicated it intends to keep up its support for terrorist groups in the region, one example of the nefarious activity the USA continues to oppose.
