Iranian-Americans rally near United Nations

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday said that the rise of violent extremism in the Middle East was due to Western countries “strategic blunders”.

The Iranians jailed in the US are reportedly locked up for thwarting worldwide sanctions and USA law by assisting the regime from inside America.

The PM said he would “work with anyone” but said there would be no “phoney solution” involving working with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The comprehensive agreement was clinched between Iran and the P5 1 groupBritain, China, France, Russian Federation and the United States plus Germany – after more than two weeks of tough bargaining in Vienna, the capital city of Austria.

Also, the Iranian president said that Iran will not forget the past, but it do not wish to live in the past.

Iran needs 150bn of investment to reach 8% growth a year and lower youth unemployment, President Hassan Rouhani said in an address to Iranian-Americans in New York on Saturday.

Rouhani, meanwhile, gave a speech to the United Nations for the first time since Tehran edged in from the cold after signing a landmark deal with world powers over its nuclear program.

In his interview, Rouhani said that if the United States took such action it would destroy the nation’s credibility overseas, and that Iran would continue to abide by its commitment to the deal.

Mr Obamawho will later have a rare face-to-face meeting with his Russian counterpart – signalled a new willingness by the West to contemplate a role for Assad in a few form of transition that sees him removed from office.

“Today, a new chapter has started in Iran’s relations with the world”, Rouhani also declared.

“This opportunity can be seized in order to look to the future and avoid focusing on the past and rebuild our relationships”, Rouhani said Monday.

After a harsh broadside against Saudi Arabia, which Iran has blamed for the death of almost 800 Muslim pilgrims last week – more than 130 of them Iranian – Rouhani hit Israel for its policies on Palestinians and blamed the USA for the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Iran was the subject of criticism by President Obama Monday morning during his speech to the General Assembly, wherein he called out the country for continuing to employ “violent proxies to advance its interests” in the Middle East.

Rouhani said that Iran is ready to help bring democracy to war-torn Syria and Yemen.
