In her view, “Doing so would erode the coercive power of sanctions and undermine the rationale for imposing sanctions in the first place”.In testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on July 23, 2015, you said: “Iranian banks will not be able to clear US dollars through NY, hold correspondent account relationships with United States financial institutions, or enter into financing arrangements with USA banks”.

Commenting on Iran fulfilling its commitments to the nuclear deal, the top European Union official said, “Iran has delivered its side of the deal and so has the European Union by lifting all the nuclear related sanctions against Iran”.
Zarif reportedly is accompanied by Abbas Araqchi, and Majid Takht Ravanchi who are the top nuclear negotiators.
But with the U.S. still maintaining some sanctions, including on what it says is Iran’s sponsorship of designated terror organisations, Iran’s access to global finance remains limited.
In their joint briefing with High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini the sides underscored that the EU and Iran were in agreement on the expansion of economic relations, and “encouraging banking cooperation”.
Secretary of State John Kerry will meet Iran’s foreign minister this week amid Iranian complaints that it’s not getting the sanctions relief it deserves under last year’s landmark nuclear deal, the State Department said Monday.
Tehran has called on the United States to do more to remove obstacles to the banking sector so that businesses feel comfortable with investing in Iran without penalties.
Mogherini personally helped negotiate the nuclear deal between Iran and the US, Great Britain, Germany, France, China and Russian Federation.
“(The) EU will support and assist Iran to become a member of the World Trade Organization”, and will pursue opening a full EU diplomatic mission in Tehran, the statement said.
U.S. President Barack Obama said this month that Iran has so far stuck to the nuclear agreement, but Tehran’s launch of ballistic missiles “with slogans calling for the destruction of Israel” undermine the spirit of the deal. Unfortunately, Iran has seen how the White House is bending over backwards to safeguard the nuclear deal, and it is determined on taking all the possible advantages.
The EU is troubled by the more than 1,000 executions that were carried out in Iran a year ago.

“The main message that I have delivered here is the fact that we Europeans have as much as an interest as the Iranians that this issue is solved”, she said in a sit-down with a small group of reporters later. “This doesn’t mean that we are not concerned”, Mogherini added.
