Iranian Official: Obama Trying to Soothe Lawmakers About Nuke Deal
It is indeed a multilateral accord including also the UK, France, Russia, China (as permanent members of the UN Security Council) and Germany. “And in our efforts to counter the Iranian regime’s malign activities, we will continue to engage our partners in the region to reassure them and to address these areas”. But that was not the end of the story. His support was critical because Iran has threatened to destroy Israel. Nobody in their right mind would definitively predict that another Middle Eastern conflict involving the U.S.is out of the question over the next 20 years. Obama and his allies say there is no alternative to the deal other than to let Iran proceed unsupervised.

Opponents “would be opposed to any deal with Iran“, Obama told the supporters, who were invited to the 20-minute phone call through an array of liberal organizations backing the worldwide nuclear agreement.
Iran has the capability today of producing atomic weapons this year. An earlier CNN poll, in June, found a full two-thirds of those polled skeptical that an agreement could be reached that would prevent Iran from getting a nuke. Others are very cynical that this deal will be a success as goes the old saying, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so even by that standard this deal can be trusted keeping in view all the cynics of the deal. Israel’s prime minister, Netanyahu, is still doing his utmost to wreck the deal.
On the other hand, the US President Barak Obama and the US Treasury Department stated that Iran will have access to $100 billion after the IAEA verification of the implementation of measures under the agreement. She suggested that Democrats who voted to override the veto would face political consequences, another allusion to the vote before the Iraq war.
Mr. Engel explained he is concerned that a cap on Iran’s supply of enriched uranium, a key ingredient for a nuclear bomb, lasts 15 years under the terms of the deal.
Israel, of course, will be terribly disappointed. Netanyahu, of course, sees phantoms when it comes to Iran; notwithstanding the fact that Israel is already a nuclear state with an estimated arsenal of 200 bombs. Yes, Iran says and does bad things.
Any deal with Iran will not be without risk, but the risks associated with inaction are far more dire.
“Admiral, you were just asked to give your personal opinion if asked for it”, McCain said. “I think the answer to your question is it depends on how we use our time between then and now”. But the matter has taken on added significance as Congressional leaders have sought clarification on whether the nuclear pact will restrict their ability to sanction Iran in the future.
The famous names, including veteran diplomat and former US UN Ambassador Thomas Pickering, say the deal negotiated between the United States, other world powers and Iran is the best option available.
Despite the ban on state-run banks, all Iranian private banks were still connected to the SWIFT system as they were not covered by EU sanctions and could avail themselves of the services provided by the financial network. But there is already a shared sense of danger from the so-called Islamic state (IS).
It is unlikely that a war in the Middle East involving American troops will occur while this president remains in the White House.
