Iredell High School Canopy Collapses Onto Students
Multiple people were injured when a concrete-covered area collapsed at North Iredell High School, according to authorities. First responders told the station that “multiple injuries” were reported.

The incident was reported around 2:15 p.m.at North Iredell High School about 10 miles north of Statesville. Officials say seven EMS units left the scene for area hospitals, but it’s not clear how many patients in total were transported.
WCNC-TV reports that students were on campus for a band competition as well as SAT testing.
Officials have not released much information, but firefighters said via Twitter that 20 children were reportedly “under the collapse zone”.
Police, Fire and Medic teams were all called to the scene.

According to the high school’s website, children were at the school for a band competition.
