Irish film fans to break last year’s cinema figures before Star Wars

The plot of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has been kept largely under wraps, with even trailers and marketing material revealing little of the wildly anticipated movie. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.

The same came be said for newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, both 23, who take on lead roles.

In New Orleans, a “Star Wars”-impressed Mardi Gras marching membership is organizing a Wednesday night time pajama party-marathon screening of the primary three “Star Wars” movies”. It was recently confirmed, however, that Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow will be helming the third Saga chapter. Many of them beforehand lined up on the similar location to be among the many first to see the “Star Wars” prequel movies, starting in 1999.

At one of the Hollywood Boulevard location – the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre, where the first “Star Wars” premiered in 1977 – fans are already camped out this weekend, eagerly awaiting their turn when the film opens for regular folks next Friday.

The US premiere of the film is tonight, Monday December 14, in Los Angeles, where fans have been camping out for days.

This way you learn about the Star Wars universe as people did back in the Seventies – and hopefully become just as excited again when Darth Vader informs Luke Skywalker that he is, in fact, his daddy. Experts predict that products tied to the film could bring in up to $5 billion in revenue for Walt Disney Company, which paid $4 billion for Lucasfilm in 2012.

The Force is about to be with us.
